Located a reasonable distance from the capital Tunis, and in the heart of the Tunisian tourism industry, it’s no surprise to see that demand for accommodation in Sousse is always hot from holidaymakers.

Moevenpick Resort & Marine Spa
Some hotels give the game away with their name, and there’s no doubt that Moevenpick Resort & Marine Spa does exactly that. The pool area is one of the nicest in Sousse and considering the fact that the hotel is situated right next to the beach, it couldn’t be better for visiting families. Additionally, unlike some hotels which make a name for their beach facilities, the strip near Moevenpick is the definition of pristine.
A special mention should be given to the eating facilities at this establishment as well and while some rivals might put on a ‘boring’ cuisine that stays pretty much the same every day, the same cannot be said of Moevenpick which is varied to say the least.
Tour Khalef Marhaba Thalasso & Spa
In comparison to the previous establishment, it could be said that Tour Khalef Marhaba Thalasso & Spa is a little older but that should not detract away from its terrific qualities. It is still one of the prime hotels in Sousse and as the saying goes; it has probably improved with age. Again, it is right on the doorstep of a beautiful beach, but visitors will also have access to a large pool which is swamped by activities.
On the subject of activities, and specifically the animation team, this is arguably one of the most vibrant you will find in the whole area. If you ever do find yourself bored during the day there is always someone on hand, while at night both the kids and grown-ups will always be kept entertained.
Elsewhere, we should also give a mention to the restaurants and bars. The food again arrives as part of a varied buffet, while the pool bars are thriving during the day and are sure to keep you ticking over. For those of you who want to sample a smoke of local cuisine, one of the bars offers a shisha service and this can create the ultimate relaxing afternoon as you lounge by the pool.
Orient Palace Hotel
The previous entry on our list links in perfectly with this next one, with the Orient Palace Hotel also renowned for its superb animation team who will keep you busy by day, and entertained at night. To give a taste of what the animation team can provide; during the day it’s full of activities like AcquaGym while in the evening be prepared to dance the night away with musical events.
Unlike some of the other establishments on our list, the Orient Palace Hotel benefits from its own private strip of beach which is ideal for those visitors who want a little more privacy during their stay. The pool is worth a mention on its own as well and even though Orient Palace Hotel is another one of the older establishments in Sousse, it is clear that the pool has been kept up-to-date to satisfy anyone who just wants to relax on-site.
Marhaba Beach Hotel
As you may have gathered, this is another hotel which is perched right beside the beach. In contrast to some of the previous entries, this one appear to be a little more modern and provides a host of excellent facilities ranging from a large swimming pool area, right the way to restaurants that cater for numerous cuisines.
Once again, the animation team at Marhaba always come away with plaudits and whether you are looking for activities to fill up your day, or if you want to party away into the night, they’ll have you covered. One event which seems to always receive plenty of praise is the Drag Show, although every evening has something different on the agenda.
Marhaba Royal Salem
At the risk of sounding repetitive, the Marhaba Royal Salem is another establishment which prides itself on a fantastic animation team. Again, they will have you covered at all periods of the day and night, but there are plenty of other benefits for choosing this hotel as well.
The surrounding areas compliment the “Royal” tag perfectly, while the fact that it is a short path away from the beach makes it great for visitors of all ages. There are numerous swimming pools to choose from, while elsewhere you’ll struggle to find a group of staff who are as helpful and courteous. In short, they will do anything you ask and more and make your stay completely special.
